I get what you're saying but in the same token, i don't necessarily think its anyones place to tell them what to do with the money because although it is "tax payer funded" America was built on the backs of slaves so they have got a claim to that money already.Reparation money would be like lottery money then and get spent recklessly = no actual long term change to the black community you idiot.
Requiring some level of commitment from people is for their own benefit. They already "earned" the money but there is a large percentage of black people that aren't ready to fiscally handle a big windfall of money or property.
Why is it idiotic to want to prepare people? You wouldn't hand someone the keys to a car without first requiring then to learn the rules of the road and get some practice. Similarly, why would you hand someone a bunch of money without requiring that they learn how to use it to benefit themselves in the long term?
I don't really care if people go to college or not - that's their choice. What I do care about as a taxpayer is the general economic well being and level footing for people from every race/ethnicity/community. Not trying to support stupidity or extravagance.
I'm black, although Im not african american technically african american and I would more than likely not get a sent of reparations I would love for my brothers to prosper.
