1. DON'T take the car to the dealer for fixes or maintenance unless its under warranty still.
2. Once its out of warranty, find a good indy shop near you that has a good rep. If they quote you something outrageous, ask for an invoice for what you need, buy the parts yourself (almost always can be had for cheaper) then negotiate on labor cost.
