I'm sorry if some feel this is a waste of space.
Actually, I'm not sorry. It's a known fact that Kendrick Perkins is simply not very good, but after watching him a few times, it's become clearthat he is so not very good to the point that there needs to be a separate post about it.
The thing that prompted me to make this post was his "showing" in the Celtics-Bobcats game. A few minutes ago, on a normal possession, he holds theball in the post against Okafor, then makes a move with Okafor's body all over him, then shoots the ball into Okafor's hand. I'm not sure, but itlooked like Okafor actually tried to bat it to KG, and I thought I saw him say, "If you're not gonna pass to KG, I'll do it for you." As ifhe didn't get the message, after the ball bounces back to him, Perkins shoots a jumper from beyond the free throw line that bricks like his name is KwameBrown.
This fool tries to move around the post like he's Hakeem, Shaq, hell, even Yao, almost EVERY time that someone passes it to him. It's like he believessomething is true if and only if he reads it in the newspaper, and that he hasn't gotten a newspaper since June.
I don't know how else to explain that he would keep playing like he's the number one main offensive option with KG, PP, and Ray Allen on his teamunless he didn't know they were there.
As a matter of fact, that's the worst thing about his game: HE DOESN'T KNOW HIS PLACE. Some might say, him thinking he's a star would be good; hewould be playing hard, yadayda. I'm here to tell you, NO. That is not the case. Not knowing his place? All bad.
Granted, Ray Allen is out tonight, but that bumps Perkins from the tenth offensive option to the ninth. They should be starting Glen "habitual linestepper" Davis, even SCOTT POLLARD, over Perkins. Or they could sign a free agent and chances are, he would be better than Perkins. Or they could trackdown Manute Bol. Or they can start Tony Allen and put Rondo at center. Anything!!!
The Celtics would probably be undefeated if it wasn't for Perkins. He probably throws 3-4 possessions into the garbage can every game via some boneheaddecision, which would make up for the deficits from their three losses. They probably wouldn't have even had to play anybody in his place in order to getthose 3 extra wins; just play four on five. Playing four on five would be better than five on five with Perkins. Maybe if they just played KG, Paul Pierce, andRay Allen alone for 48 minutes every game, it would be better.
I don't know how else to describe the
that is Perkins' game and intelligence other than to see what others have tosay.
However, I could really care less about what Perkins does to the Celtics' success, or that they're 29-4 no matter what he's doing.
This post isn't about the Celtics success, 29-4 or not.
This is JUST about how Perkins is so bad, from his skills to his decision-making.
I only mention the Celtics' successes because Perkins' sucktastic presence on the court hurts it. I don't want them to be better, I'm justsaying that Perkins is holding them back.
