Cough drop rookies

So im about to sole dye my rookies red. 

Just like the cough drop foams im going to sole dye them red and make the stiching for the swoosh and penny logo red.

If they are yellow now should I get sea glow with the rit dye or is it safe to just to sole dye them with rit dye?
