Yo.. not gonna lie though. His post game interview was really tough to watch. You could see that he was fighting back tears big time and probably had already shed a few before hand. And when he shot those free throws after the injury you could see him about to burst too.
He is probably the MJ for all the 90's babies like me. And it's a tough loss for the NBA. Not just the Lakers and you guys.
I hope he gets well soon and like people have been saying, if anyone can come back from this and average 30 and drop 55 in NY.. it's the Mamba.
Heat fan or not, I hope the best for Kobe.
Big props to you fam. Tired of all these ridiculous comments and just shameful comments about this guy. Big props fam.

Yo man. Thanks. I felt the pain too because honestly... It's kinda like watching a childhood hero fall. For 17 years of my 21 years of living.. I've seen him in that Purple and Gold. To see the frustration and tears in his eyes.. saddened me. Never seen him so vulnerable. It's weird because it's like he always seemed so indestructible..

But every super hero has their little downfall.. and they always come back triumphant. Sad day for sports man! But I'll def be watching that comeback game :smokin

I really respect Bill Simmons' knowledge of basketball and writing, but he's gone out of his way lately to throw dirt on Jim and D'Antoni. :smh:

I'll take Tim Grover and Gary Vitti's medical expertise over his.

I don't think Grover or Vitti are medical experts. They are just trainers.

Go to WebMD. I don't know how reliable the site is but it mentions many factors that can lead to it. It includes over playing and playing while injured. That was the same foot kobe had the bone problem after the Dhantay foul.

hope mamba returns and makes one last push...... i can never ride with the lakers but i don't want to see the best of the generation go out like that

i also dont think it was just some random freak accident, im no doctor but i feel like getting hurt earlier that game had something to do with it. when you sprain your ankle or have a sore knee you naturally change your movement to take the pressure off, in highschool i sprained my ankle pretty bad but refused to stop balling so i ended up putting all the pressure of my movements on my knee and i had to miss my senior track season because of it. not saying that this is the only reason but im sure kobe was putting more stress on his tendon last night to make up for all his other injuries

Dr. Soon Shiong along with Kobe for the recovery.

I think Kobe will be fine, he'll have the best people surrounding him to make sure he's back on the right track.

Can someone tweet Kobe that now he is gonna have to make his right leg his main jumping leg? It is probably fresher than his left leg and has less jumping mileage.

It is kinda like switching from being right handed to left handed.

I heard the news but I've been dodging espn and NT for a few days , hoping It wasnt as serious as everyone thought.

Unfortunately that hasn't happened and my fav athlete Kobe the god is done and may never be the same, I'm honestly numb and doubt if ill be watching the nba like I used too.

Feel like I've been robbed bro, I was seriously looking forward to our playoff run and a few Kobe moments even it it was an 8th seed first round exit.

I think that people who are just blaming MDA don't get it; Kobe is Kobe. He has an iron will and nobody can get in the way of it. His will to compete trumps MDA's ability to pull him out of games. It was really a lose lose for MDA. You think Kobe hasn't played after being advised not to?? Though I really think a super elite player of Kobe's mentality needs a coach who is on his level.

Typical of people though to hold one person responsible and want see someone get their head chopped off so to speak. In all honesty, this is nobody's and yet somehow everybody's fault. This entire season has just been crazy. My best wishes to Kobe in recovering and becoming healthy.

It's nobodies fault. It just happened. Kobe was trying to push thru it, his legs were beggin him to stop. His legs won.

It happens.

Kind of changes who we need this offseason...

Pretty much think the roster should stay put for the most part....

But have to look for
1. Combo Guard who plays defense
2. A 3 point specialist at SF.

I think Wes Johnson would be a solid addition if we can somehow pick him up this offseason.

His jumper has vastly improved and would bring us the youth and athleticism that we desperately need.

Delonte West is available to take all of Steve Blake's minutes. I think he'd be a nice playoff roster addition. He just got married recently so maybe he won't bring the tools to work in the moped seat.

Seeing Kobe in high spirits really makes it a lot easier for me as a fan. I respect his upbeat attitude and positive demeanor.

Yeah it was a pretty sad morning waking up.
But seeing those IG pics cheer me up a lot...like a LOT.
If he's smiling and being positive about it, we got no choice but to be as well.
Im happy to see him on the road to recovery ASAP.

Still pretty depressed, but feeling much better now knowing that his recovery process has started.

Say they say 6-9 months, so for him, about 6.5 months until the opener. Of course I believed we would've won the chip this year. sue me. But say we didn't and the lakers got washed, since there's no olympics this year, we wouldn't really have seen Bean until the pre-season, season opener anyways. So now he gets time to rest, recoup. heal everything, strengthen everything. hit up germany, get those knees and joints right and hopefully just move forward. Unfortunate end to an incredible season for him and a bonding one for us, but, that's how it goes sometimes.

The team needs depth. No depth with old players will lead to a nightmare season like this. You can not add Vets as depth either. It has to be young guys that can play defense.

We are asking the current front office lead by Buss to do this though so they will probably just add some d league scrub for the min and call it a day.

This season is just cursed man :smh: ..

And to think after all the injuries they had all year ....Kobe's injury was like icing on the cake to finish off this disappointing season. I still love my Lakers and hopefully they play inspired basketball.

@ZachLowe_NBA Just off phone with Donald Rose, former Sixers doctor, longtime surgeon to athletes of all kinds. Says Achilles is freak occurrence... (1/2)
@ZachLowe_NBA …recent minutes, fatigue or unrelated injuries likely played no role in Kobe's case. 2/2
@ZachLowe_NBA Rose, one of the leading experts in his field, also optimistic Kobe can regain something close to peak form (w/ age-related decline)

Hoping Kobe will have a speedy recovery. Will miss him while he's out. I'll just think they missed the playoffs (even if they make it).
