I did it on a Thursday afternoon, not exactly weekends, but it's always worth trying.

If you're referring to the trick in general - I just tried it the first time last week.
Just be friendly, simple "Hi how are you?" after she asks.
Then put your ID on top, $20 in the middle a bit sticking out, credit card beneath and simply ask "I was wondering if you had any complimentary upgrades?"
She'll then check and ask if you'd like the options.

I'm heading back out at the end of October.. boy's birthday.
deciding between The Cosmo, ARIA, Mandalay Bay, or THEhotel (@ Mandalay)... I know The Cosmo is the "it" spot right now, but any input on the other three?

i just got back from vegas the other day. me and some friends tried to go through a stamp person to get into marquee. the stamp ended up being wrong and we ended up getting detained by the bouncers. they interrogated us and we told them all the information we knew. they didn't believe us and ended up taking our pictures and they told us we were BANNED from marquee night club, day club, tao beach, tao night club, and i think the cosmopolitan hotel iteself FOREVER.
i thought it was a little extreme for something so little.
anyone ever have this happen to them? anyone know how to resolve this issue? help please

Lot of scammers down there in Vegas, you have to be careful. Reaction seems a bit OD. However, just know for those top clubs, the only ways to get in are bottle service, stand in line, pre-sale tickets or guest list. I've heard good things about THEhotel. Solid suites and all. I haven't heard great things about Aria casino hosts and somewhat overall service, but the casino staff has been great when I've been there. The place smells like vanilla/strippers though, so that's always a plus (as opposed to cigarette smoke). Might wanna check the PH offers, since its in a good area and has some nice rooms. Should be cheaper than Aria/Cosmo, equivalent to THEhotel but in a better location.
