Got a iPhone 3G but............. ( anybody??)

I have a iPhone 3G but it is jailbroken with 3.0. I have a Cellular South plan already. Since my
iPhone is unlocked, can I get a prepaid card and insert it into my iPhone since I just want to use it for
internet and texting? Right now, my iPhone is unlocked but it say no sim at the top so it like a iPod Touch now.
