My cousin used to do it with his and it would work. Try it. It should work for you too.

dont do it. it works for a few days but then it will just die again and +@$% up your system even more.

Oven fix/X-Clamp Fix > all.

Stick your xbox in the oven for 10 mins on 500. it WILL WORK. I put my account on it. I've done it twice myself. Its the towel trick on steroids.Here's a tut.
