yall can have him as a returner or whatever else yall want him as. Im glad hes gone and could someone please get rid of 25.

Sorry to bring up an old wound, but does anybody remember this travesty?

There was a segment on the radio yesterday about despised Houston sports

figured how we couldn't wait to get out of town. Chris brown was definitely one of

them. What an underachieving bum.

Yea the pass was bad but I blame Kubiak more for calling such an awful play inside the red zone.

Kubes was awful that whole year.

Yea that was the 2009/10 season, when the Jets basically ruined our season in the 1st game, since they were the
ones that kept us out the playoffs that year. The 2010/11 season was our twilight zone year. That was worse than
any of our 2-14/4-12 seasons.

Nah 2-14 was a epically bad season, I seen the 2010 season coming pretty much off how 09 ended. Should won 10 games in 09 but couldn't get out if our own way to a 9-7 season.

See I look at it different cause those 4-12/2-14 teams, they were just legitimately bad teams. Nothing was important during
those seasons cause we were far out of contention for anything other than a high draft pick. That 6-10 season...

damn, so
much emotional investment with those soul crushing mind-numbing losses. 5 games flushed down the toilet cause the DBs
had bricks stripped to their cleats, D-line caused no pressure, and Kris Brown kicked plenty of games away.

Pretty sure you're describing 09. Kris Brown was gone by 2010.

09 was way rougher than 10.

Ah damn, I did fuse those seasons together with mentioning Kris Brown. But the 2009/10 season we went 9-7 when we beat the
Pats the last game of the season. 2010/11 season is when we went 6-10, where there were 5 games where we were either leading
in the 4th quarter, or making a comeback. We blew the Chargers, Jets, Titans, the sorry Broncos and that infamous MNF game against
the Ravens. Oh yea, don't forget about the Hail Mary game either

Losing 2 games at the 1 yard line >>>. With that schedule too, we shoulda won 11 games in 09.

Both horrible coaching years by Kubiak nonetheless. He shouldn't have made it out but I'm kinda content for now.
Report: Texans Sign Former Dolphins, ******** QB John Beck
HOUSTON TEXANSJOHN BECKNFL, WASHINGTON ********

After being released two weeks ago by the Washington ********, quarterback John Beck has found a new job — Beck has agreed to a contract with the Houston Texans, according to Jay Drew of the Salt Lake Tribune.

Beck was released by the ******** on draft night — the Skins selected Baylor’s Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III with the No. 2 overall pick in the draft before surprisingly adding Kirk Cousins from Michigan State as well, in round four.

In Houston, Beck is unlikely to see much time under center — Matt Schaub is the incumbent QB, and Beck will have to compete for the backup role with T.J. Yates.

Texans Sign Five Members of 2012 Draft Class

Five of the eight members of the Houston Texans 2012 Draft class are under contract, the team announced today. The Texans signed fourth round picks, C Ben Jones, WR Keshawn Martin and DE Jared Crick, K Randy Bullock (fifth round) and T Nick Mondek (sixth round). In addition, 21 undrafted college free agents have officially signed with team.

Jones (6-3, 303) was selected with the 99th overall pick out of Georgia and earned All-SEC first-team honors his senior season. As a senior, Jones served as a team captain, started all 14 games and was the only player on the team to play all 1,016 offensive snaps during the season. He was the recipient of the team’s Vince Dooley Most Valuable Player Award, a finalist for the Rimington Trophy, awarded to the nation’s top center, and was named to Georgia’s Team of the Decade. Jones ranks third all-time among Georgia offensive linemen with 49 career starts.

Martin (5-11, 194) was taken 121st overall out of Michigan State. He appeared in 48 games with the Spartans, including 16 starts. Martin had 127 career receptions for 1,714 yards and 10 touchdowns. He added three touchdowns rushing, two passing, two via punt return and had one kickoff return for a touchdown.

Martin finished his collegiate career ranked second in school history in punt return yards (659), fourth in punt returns (65), and eighth in kick return yards (1,100) and kick returns (47). During his senior season, Martin set career highs with 66 receptions and 777 yards receiving, both of which ranked second on the squad in 2011. His 445 yards after the catch led the team and ranked third in the Big Ten during the regular season. Martin also earned honorable mention All-Big Ten accolades and was on the watch list for the Paul Hornung Award, presented to college football’s most versatile player.

Crick (6-4, 276) was selected with the 126th overall pick out of Nebraska. He appeared in 42 games, starting his final 33 games at defensive tackle for the Huskers. He recorded 167 tackles (75 solos) in his career and ranks eighth on the Huskers’ all-time list with 20.0 career sacks.

A team captain for the Huskers, Crick had his senior season cut short after suffering a torn pectoral muscle against Ohio State in the fifth game of the 2011 season. Crick was the recipient of the Big Ten Conference Sportsmanship Award, a two-time member of the Brook Berringer Citizenship Team, as well as a winner of the Brook Berringer Memorial Scholarship during his career.

Bullock (5-9, 208) became the first kicker ever drafted by the Texans when he was taken with the 161st overall pick out of Texas A&M. Bullock left A&M as the school’s all-time leading scorer with 365 career points. His 142 points scored in 2011 set a Texas A&M record and ranked second all-time among Big XII kickers.

The winner of the 2011 Lou Groza Award, presented annually to the best placekicker in college football, Bullock also earned All-America first-team honors and was named to the All-Big XII Conference team. During his senior season, Bullock connected on 87.9 percent of his field goal attempts and set single-season school records for points scored (142), field goals made (29) and extra points (55).

Bullock is from Houston and attended Klein High School, where he earned All-Greater Houston, All-Texas and first-team All-District honors as a senior in 2007.

Mondek (6-5, 304), taken with the 195th overall pick, started 25 consecutive games at guard and tackle during the course of his junior and senior seasons at Purdue. Mondek spent the first two years at Purdue as a defensive tackle before transitioning to the offensive line in 2010.

Following are the 2012 draft picks who the Houston Texans have signed:

Ben Jones – C (6-3, 303) 22-years old – fourth round - Georgia
Keshawn Martin – WR (5-11, 194) 22-years old – fourth round - Michigan State
Jared Crick – DE (6-4, 276) 22-years old – fourth round – Nebraska
Randy Bullock – K (5-9 208) 22-years old – fifth round - Texas A&M
Nick Mondek – T (6-5, 304) 23-years old - sixth round – Purdue

A group of us went to NO for the saints game this past year and we almost got into it a few times. We were getting all the nasty looks because after every first down we were doing the whole reliant "and thats another houston texans..... FIRST DOWN!" saints fans were like do yall do that every time? then they let us have it in the 4th quarter.

But nothing was worse than being in Vegas for the 2nd round of the playoffs. Probably saved my bother from going to jail that night after a Giants fan started mouthing off to him.

TEXANS NEWS: HOUSTON TRYING OUT MIKE SIMS-WALKER AND JUSTIN FORSETT

thumb.php

The Houston Texans may not be done adding to their team. According to Adam Schefter via Twitter, the team will be working out former Jaguars and Rams wide receiver Mike Sims-Walker on Wednesday, while former Seahawks running back, Justin Forsett, will also be attending the workout.

Sims-Walker washed out in St. Louis and was a failure in a return to Jacksonville last season, but he’s still just one year removed from productive football. In fact, MSW is still just 27 years old and was regarded as a receiver on the rise in the league as recently as 2010. Inconsistency and poor work ethic have plagued him up until this point.

There’s a chance he could find a new home in Houston, however, as the Texans continue their search to form a deeper and more talented receiving corps than in year’s past. Andre Johnson should be back to 100% by the start of the 2012 season, but he’s still recovering from a knee scope, while Kevin Walter is the only other proven veteran receiver after the team released Jacoby Jones. Rookie wide receiver Devier Posey figures to compete for the number two spot, but will have to prove himself first.

As for Forsett, his speed and versatility as a receiver out of the back-field could earn him a long look from the Houston coaching staff. Arian Foster and Ben Tate are locked-in as the team’s top two running backs, but a lack of experience and talent behind them could prompt the team to bring in Forsett for the 2012 season.

Forsett’s ability to help on returns could be the deciding factor, as he would be a multi-dimensional weapon and could quickly fill the void of Jones in the return game, while also helping out as a running back.
Houston Texans WR Dwight Jones Quits Football
dwight-jones.jpg

May 29, 2012 - Houston Texans wide receiverDwight Jones is done with professional football, only weeks after beginning his career in the NFL. On Tuesday morning it was reported by Mark Berman of Fox 26 in Houston that Jones informed the Texans that he was quitting football.

The Texas signed Jones as an undrafted free agent following the 2012 NFL Draft. Jones, a North Carolina product, was once regarded as a player likely to be drafted on the second day of the draft. His draft stock fell precipitously following questions about his on-field efforts at UNC and poor showings at the Senior Bowl and the Combine this spring.

Jones did not report on Tuesday morning for the team's OTAs. That set off a round of speculation leading up to the news.

HOUSTON -- The Houston Texans reached contract agreements Saturday with free agents Alan Ball and Justin Forsett, myFOXhouston.com reported, citing sources.

Ball had played his entire five-year career with the Dallas Cowboys, who drafted the cornerback in the seventh round in 2010.

He played in 60 games for the Cowboys, starting 21, including all 16 games in 2010. The 27-year-old had 37 tackles, six passes defensed and one interception last season.

Forsett, 26, had been with the Seattle Seahawks since 2008. The running back's best season was in 2010, when he ran for 619 yards, averaged 5.4 yards per carry and scored four touchdowns.

he would have fit perfectly on the Texans if this was 2010.

Apparently the Texans gave Kubiak a 1 year extension. That's probably to put pressure on him to make sure last year,
wasn't a fluke, and if anything goes south, we already have another coach in waiting...
