How did/does it feel being the token black dude in college?

Did people look at your weird when you walked into class?

What type of questions did people ask you?

Anyone ever accuse you of something?

Did people treat you differently since you were the only black dude around?
 
Since we don't have a lot of black people out here, when I encounter another black dude, we always give each other that nod of acknowledgment
 
I was lucky to have a very diverse core group of friends in college. And it was a very white/Jewish college.

But I had some other groups of friends where I was the only black dude, didn't really feel out of place though. I guess it wasn't like a lot of them haven't seen a big black guy before.

I'm Portuguese/white but I have a good friend who is from Africa at school and as far as I'm concerned he's treated no differently... if anything people like him more because of it :lol:
