How do you promote/market your music?

I was seeing if we could start a thread to share marketing strategies and any useful tools/hints on promoting music since they're are plenty of artists on here looking to grow their fan base and build their brand. Feel free to drop any knowledge you've gained over the years. 

I'm getting ready to launch my 3rd project and I have some capital to invest in it this time around that I didn't have before so I'm trying to plan and prioritize the best way to spend my money. Any info is appreciated!
