How often do you guys play basketball?

I used to play 4-5 times a week during college.

Now I'm lucky to play once a week and it's just shooting around as opposed to pick up games. |I

BTW, can anyone recommend any open gyms around the NoVA area?

Summertime I would play 2-4 times a week, and I go wherever homies would hit me up to ball.

Then I got lazy...and now that I want to play and get back into shape, my broken foot wont heal right and may need surgery.

I try to aim for 5-6 days a week to let my knees get rest. I don't play pickup often tho, mostly shooting alone. Concrete kills my knees

I never play. :frown:

I miss it too. But I work nights on the weekends and stuggle to find the time during the week, or energy after I get off work at 8pm. Just got a gym membership so I'm hoping to find the motivation soon

outside of Friday (no runs anywhere) and Saturday when work allows, I'm in the lab getting it in. One thing that I do now that I didn't do when I was younger is hit the ice tub 7 days a week for 20 minutes. makes a BIG difference...

I try to play like 3-4x a week just to stay active.

I ****** up my achilles though, I should probably see a specialist about it. Idk what I did but it's been sore for the past like 6 months. Really messed up my explosiveness :smh:

You should try some Spenco Gel Heel Cups

It may help as long as you dont have any real damage there

Man, I'm at an age(41) where I rarely play competitively. It's not because I can't play. It's because I'm deathly afraid of injuries:lol: The wild part is that I continue to train as if I play(plyo, squats, lifting etc), but my competitive games are usually limited to 21 or games of 3 on 3 once or twice a week.

Usually 2 days a week Tuesday and Wednesday. Growing up I had Osgood schlatter so every once in a while if I push my self to many times my knees start to hurt. Gotta start getting out there more tho I'm starting to gain a little weight.

went from 4-5 days a week at 2-3 hours each day to 0 :smh:

pretty much retired for over a year now :x gonna try my hardest to get back into playing once or twice a week if i can in the fall with a buddy. my game has dimished from not playing but im a natural shooter but been focusing more on lifting so gonna try and get shots up before i lift again and see if i can get it wet again.

sucks getting older, working, all your friends working. i swear playing ball everyday with buddies and knowing everyone at the gym was one of the funnest things ever

Sitting here with a broke ankle..

So 0 ryte now but I just started playing again for first time in many years before this happened...

I still light the three pt line up like I never stopped but I did loose my handles completely...crazy how they shot never went away..

Damn bro... who broke your ankles?

But I feel you on that shot thing, even if I haven't played in months... all it takes is a couple of games, it comes right back!

But handles? Forget it bro... that went out the window. I don't even bother trying ot get it back.

I broke my own ..

Yeah shot stays with you but it's like starting all over again with the handles...

I used to have it back then I've actually seriously broken ankles on court once upon a time, having the whole gym go crazy..them good old days when ball was life.

I have been more focused on adding muscle in the gym and playing less ball but I still shoot around.( shot is still butter) But since I have been lifting, the game comes to me so easily. Once I get to my goal weight I will start playing 4-5 times a week.

Man before my son was born at least 5x a week. Since my son has been born I've played like 4 times and he will be 3 in november

i shoot around a couple times a week to keep up on my game. pickup games aren't as often anymore... i used to play them like every other day when the weather was nice, but now with everyone busy its tough keeping it as frequent.

pretty much this, i spend about 35-45 mins a day/4-5 times a week just working on my jumper. games come very less frequently nowadays.

I play in a couple of Rec leagues like 2-3 times a week depending which league is on and which is off
1-2 times playing pickup.
Like last week I hooped Sun, Mon, Tues, went to Summer League on Weds, and hooped Thurs

I think Monday night was the most i've played thus far...

A lot of dudes from the Vegas Summer league was at my gym (literally like 60 heads over there)

Played from 6pm-1am... my legs were SHOT the following day.

Used to be everyday. But I frequently get shin splints now so I usually play 2-4 days a week.

Like I said before, I tore everything in my knee last September, so I hardly ever play now.

Shot around yesterday, and played a game w/ some regulars I used to hoop w/ last summer, all the time.

Maaaaan...
