Just got a raise and promotion myself

I'm starting to understand that when you climb the corporate ladder, you're doing less gruntwork and you're more in the spot you are because of your brain or skillset or whatever

And because when **** really goes down you're needed to do things or provide solutions that the average employee can't

No American office worker is going hard for the complete 8 hours of their day

But OP do you work remote? 3 hour-long breaks da hell?

Let my girl tell it tho, she works a full 10_hours in a 8 hour day and has no free time...yet has time to know everybody in the office business an S!!!

I find myself on NT and bs'ing around at my computer early AM and late-afternoon. I get plenty of work done during the day but I also walk around and hit extended trips to the bathroom often .

Wish I could work from home, but apparently it's only allowed in emergencies. I say it now but I really don't think I'd mind answering emails and whatnot after hours (if it was urgent) and on a Sunday if I'm without plans during the day. I've been waiting to get set up with a laptop for months.

It ain't even about old people. Most of the managers at my job are younger (under 40) and they still follow that same dumbass logic.

Real talk how many hours do you actually spend working a day at your 9-5 job? I legit, no exaggeration work 2 hours a day max. I take 2-3 one hour breaks throughout the day. One for lunch, one for gym, and one to walk around aimlessly and ponder life. It's just hilarious to me that no one notices and I'm just stealing company money doing absolutely doing. Just got a raise too. Anyways, hit me up if you need a job getting paid to do nothing. Peace Niketalk, have a wonderful productive day.

Yea not the best move posting that kinda stuff at work ...but most companies monitor the employees computer usage a lot less than we think they do , it's one of those things they want ppl to believe in so u think twice and police yourself while at work ...most places I've worked somebody gotta tip off IT to look into what u doing or u gotta be on some extra wild stuff using the computer at work

I'm a graphic designer in an office setting. I'm usually 2 or 3 days ahead of my work schedule. Podcasts, and NT get me through the day. Entry level, so the pay is ****. Been here for 6 months now, and while I like it because I finally got out of the retail world, I need a better paying gig. Especially since I'm going back to school for IT next spring. Already thinking about looking for a better paying gig until that process begins.

My pops works for the GOVT and said a dude there got caught up downloading massive amounts of porn to his work computer. They didn't even fire him, he was back at work like 2 weeks later.

So yeah, if you're not doing something crazy, most places aren't looking.

At my old job working for a state univ/govt it took em a DECADE to catch up to this one dude who watched porn every day for about 90% of his work shift...dude was wild flagrant wit it too, multiple tabs double screened up n all that :x

older folks tend to use their work computer as their only computer and will have all types of porn. Be funny as hell running into some big black **** porn on some old VPs machine. On the other hand young white chicks use it as their personal too, be all types of illicit personal photos and videos.

Mane alotta femals in general...shorty I used to work with whole life was on the work comp...she planned her wedding, shopping, uploaded and edited her photos, and even had her fam's personal and legal docs on there ..meanwhile i only open up one browser and outlook on my work comp

Being in charge of the company's social media accounts make it easy to kill time at my job. If it's slow I can just surf Twitter, Deadspin, Youtube, and Kotaku. I work most of the time, doe.

My girl works in social media. Very easy to blur personal and work. Especially with IG, you can work both damn near simultaneously

Being a contact role over the phone is kinda half and half for me. I say that because while I'm working, the other half of me is browsing NT, reading random **** online, etc. of course I don't do this on the work comp but on my cell phone since they easily monitor our screens. I'm actually happy I get to have my phone on me because at my other job it was horrible and made the day feel mad long during slow periods. Earlier this year i stepped out of my office while the custodian was cleaning it. A few mins later while in another office in our dept. i noticed she was cleaning the GMs office, when i went back my office our GM was sitting at my desk txting. (Dude is kinda intrusive but cool). I had some excel spreadsheet up, we discussed it for a second and he left.

When i went to chrome i had my gmail open but the slim thick, black women and the draya thread tabs were right there. man i was shook.
