Jordan 2012 Bred question

Would it be unusual to have a size 13 but the shoe horns have size 8.5-12.5 on them?

I will put some pics up tonight when I get home from work.

A guy I know is wanting to sell the shoes but the shoe horn deal concerned me.  I have a 2001 pair of breds and when trying them on they feel wider than these 2012's.

Hopefully you guys can help me once I post some pics.
