The name Jordan, is a luxury. You can comment on the below-par quality all you want, but that's irrelevant to what the brand's stature in basketball. And since it's a luxury item and not a necessity, you don't need Air Jordan's for basketball shoes. There are many alternatives like Steve and Barry's or even season-end clearance items.
The only necessities making price adjustments in these tough economic times... Wal-Mart, department stores etc.
Similarily, you won't see, in times like these Louis Vuitton, Gucci or Giorgio Armani lowering there price to everyone can be wearing their names everywhere. You won't think of Las Vegas lowering it's wagers to attract more tourist.
And it's also a smart business move not to lower their prices in times like these (not to say that they would). While the economy is at the edge of three major auto giants folding, who in the right mind would still have the appetite to shell out $300+ for shoes like the 11/12 pack? Yet Nike/Jordan still has people knocking on their door for more. The demand is there and they're milking people in these tough times. If you can't deal with it, don't buy.
Vegas is hurting bad. Some co-workers went to a conference out in Vegas the first week of December and they all said it was a ghostown. Bartenderswere telling them that if they made it seem like they were playing they'd hook em up with drinks. They all had high hopes that New Years will bring inlots of people.Originally Posted by JordansRMyCrack

This is all correct and I agree with it, except for the Las Vegas part. Vegas has been losing more customers as well because of the economy and have been discounting prices/giving away free stuff already to attract visitors. It's a good time to go if you haven't been there.
So much truth is spoken in this thread. JB doesn't give a rat's @ss if most people have money or not ...... they just care if their shoes sell. After all, business is business.
