How so? Too me it looks like crap. Inside tag is coming off on one corner and doesn't seemed pressed very well. The Jordan tag by the laces looks really short. The jumpman on the insole feels like a sticker, not a print. And shouldn't there be a sticker on the bottom of the box?

They are a 2010 release Air Jordan -this is the standard nowadays unfortunately

Cheap looking leather ...✓
Poor stitching ...✓
Excess glue stains ...✓
Tags/Jumpmans peeling off ...✓
Poor shape (usually banana shaped) ...✓
Minimum insole cushioning ...✓
Half sized Air units ...✓
Crooked logos/tags ...✓
Weak 3M (XIIIs and Vs) ...✓

If you can tick most of those boxes, then you know they're authentic

They're legit my man...those production numbers on the tag check out, shape of the shoe, materials, etc...all on point...seems to me that your brother has a pair of B-grades there someone may have copped from the outlet and flipped on the bay, but then again, JB churns out garbage like this on the regular nowadays, so no surprises there.  
A good indicator on XIII's for LC is usually the hologram on the side heel, for future reference.
