@ESPNSteinLine Yi Jianlian update: ESPN sources say the Lakers are now in the midst of finalizing a one-year deal in the $8 million range w/the China star.
Huh?

Dudes been outta the NBA for 4 seasons, beastin in the Chinese league vs. far inferior competition

So we give him 8 mill , makes sense

He can't play center, he can't play small forward which leaves power forward. Which the Lakers are the deepest at with Randle, Nance, and Deng.

He has no trade value whatsoever, but $8mil is a good stackable income on other contracts, should the opportunity arise during the season.

yall acting like the money is coming out of your pockets

Exactly.

It aint our money, they wanna be idiots and throw away 8 million for a year who cares
As long as it aint a long term contract, or a player thats going to ruin the "culture" then why even trip? Its just another dude on the roster, just for one year.

It'll be weird cheering for dude who tried to holler at my ex. She showed me their convo and WeChat (Chinese messaging app) and she claimed she didn't even know who he was just said he introduced himself as a basketball player and the Chinese flag-bearer at the Olympics.

We eskimo bros

There's no value at all in this move. Because there's nobody else on the team of value outside of the young core. Just another stupid one, glad it's only one year.

who cares how much money it is it ain't coming outta your pocket. Not to mention Lakers will more than get their share back in China sales. And as long as he ain't taking minutes away from our young core then he's a better insurance policy at the end of our bench than Sacre or Ryan Jelly ever were.
