Not saying you're wrong but have you seen Carl this year?  He made a KILLING picking off bases on Boston catchers (mainly Varitek) over the years and now he's nowhere near his normal pace because he's on Boston

Yup but Carl was running like 70 times a year sometimes. He wont ever approach 70 attempts again, but still.
McCutchen will maybe sniff 50 a couple times. Its not that he doesnt have the speed or ability, but because he is going to eventually be asked to be more of a power hitter.
He wont ever be able to excell doing both unless he gets more protection
