Also, the part you quoted in the title is actually sung by a cat named Dion.
 
i haven't heard the song but if "Diamond in the back with the sunroof open" is the sample, it's Curtis Mayfield...
 
I actually think the person who sings "Be Thankful" is William Devaughn, but I'm fairly sure that's not what he's asking for.

its not curtis mayfield. its william devaughn if the sample song you're talking about is "Be Thankful For What You Got"
 
I believe you're gonna have to get your crate game deeper, but I can't help. It is James Taylor tho, I can tell you that much.
 
You know I've thought it was james taylor too and went to James Taylor experts and nobody can confirm that. I will continue the search.

Its def is William Devaughn i made a beat straight from the song....

Just shuffled my iPhone & this song popped up first. It's been 2.5 years since the first post and I hope someone found this sample. ( crosses fingers)
