The Seahawks have a reputation for having one of the loudest fan bases in the NFL. Those fans plan on breaking a world record for crowd noise this year.
The Seattle Seahawks are known for having one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL. Now their fans are hoping to break a world record for crowd noise, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
Volume 12, a fan group, is planning to break the Guinness World Record for "loudest crowd roar at a sports stadium" when the Seahawks host the San Francisco 49ers in Week 2 at CenturyLink Field, known affectionately to fans as "The CLink".
The current record holder is 131.76 decibels, set during a soccer match at the Ali Sami Yen Sport Complex Turk Telekom Arena in Istanbul, Turkey, on March 18, 2011.
CenturyLink Field holds more than 60,000 people, and the stadium was specifically designed to enhance acoustics, making it an intimidating atmosphere. According to the official site, opposing teams average 2.36 false starts per game, the highest in the NFL. The crowd has been recorded at over 112 decibels, almost as loud as a Boeing 747 engine. During Marshawn Lynch's 67-yard touchdown run in the 2011 playoffs, the crowd was loud enough to trigger a small earthquake.

We tried to start an NFCW thread, but a few individuals couldnt handle it and it was locked. Dont know how you guys get away with having a thread like that and we cant though.
Because some NFC West fans on this board (specifically Seattle and SF) geniunely dislike eachother and they have no problem letting that show through in their posts.

At least my guy had the decency to ask if he was doing it right or went too far
I'm not ******** on matt... I just don't think hes $41M GTD over 3 years good. Thats top 5 level money.4 seasons before Matt played every game CJ averaged 1047 yards a year and 8 touchdowns a year.
2 two seasons that Matt has played Megatron puts up 1822 a year and 11 touchdowns a year.
I think Calvin Johnson is the best NFL player that isn't a quarterback but this notion that having him is the only reason Matt Stafford is decent is stupid.
My point remains that he throws 45 times a game partly because he completes less than 60% of his passes. More completions per attempt = more 1st downs = less att/game.
Most of these points you just made are moot, because Stafford wasnt going to be a free agent until after 2014.Fair point But who or what else would you have them do?I'm not ******** on matt... Try their luck in the draft, is there someone better in the draft the Stafford right now?
Wait and have a huge cap of $19 mil?
Not re-sign him, wait for the open market and either franchise tag him ($22 mil?) or bid and lose him to the open market where some team (Jags, Cards, Titans by then, etc etc) who will pay him $90-$100 mil?
I think they were smart, no matter his stats. Brought the cap down, kept the best QB that they could have right now and someone who keeps the teams best player (Calvin) very happy.
Nah I'm not saying any of that... I believe a couple pages ago I started by saying "You have to pay your QB but..." or something to that effect... You have to pay him or you're SOL. QB salaries handcuff franchises in more ways than just cap hits.Fair point But who or what else would you have them do?I'm not ******** on matt... I just don't think hes $41M GTD over 3 years good. Ahhhhhh and the smell of football season is back
**** it... When is the NFCN trash talk thread starting up so we can freely go at each others throats?
The sooner that thread starts the sooner you're going to have to hear me talk about "the Rhodes to Rodgers breaking interception records".
