Nike Air Max Express: http://counterkicks.com/2011/12/08/exclusive-nike-air-max-express/
Turf shoes are all the rage again at retail, primarily due to Nike retro styles, particularly the Ken Griffey Jr. line. The Swoosh can’t keep churning out the old Swingman series indefinitely without potentially fatiguing the consumer (or running of out models and colorways to bring back!) though, so it’s continuing a remix strategy we’ve seen across brands and categories lately borrowing old tooling and merging it with new upper designs. That brings us to the new Nike Air Max Express, which you get a first look at now.
Previewed here in five Fall 2012 colorways:
- Speed Yellow/Black-Speed Yellow
- Sport Red/Black-Sport Red
- Hot Punch/Cool Grey-Game Royal
- Black/Black-Pine Green
- Total Orange/Dark Grey-Imperial Purple
Nike Air Max Express picks up the popular Air Griffey Max II midsole/outsole base and unifies it with a new Hyperfuse composite upper complete with a giant midfoot strap reminiscent of old Swoosh training shoes. Expect the Express to clear the retail runway in the second half of next year with a price target of $150.
