Side note: Never really been too concerned with cleaning my WOD shoes because they have always been dark, solid colors but with the white on the back of these I can see them getting grimey, fast. How can they be cleaned, that material anyway?

personally i think the metcons work better for me. main thing i notice is how stable/firm the lunar's sole is. someone mentioned the insole is a lot thicker and there's considerably more lift. didn't wod in them so can't say for sure. if they were an elite crossfit shoe i feel peeps would be all over it but doesn't seem that way.
i do like the metcon cws more too.

Fresh - is it even worth getting a pair of nano 5s? Do you think there are specific advantages this shoe has over the metcons?
I was all nano but since the metcons dropped they just sit in the closet.

i have the OG volt color and yea youre correct. the "sneakerhead" in me makes me wanna clean them each time but at this point bc theyre a daily driver just let them rock out

I mean i like mine, i think its worth trying them on.
The Kevlar upper is a huge huge upgrade from a durability standpoint, the toe box is not as narrow as the metcons, and the new midsole/tooling looks really cool. But as always to each his own. I have a few pairs of both and i really like them both.... i couldnt choose if i had to.

Word. I'll def try them on when i get a chance. From a design perspective they're so different from the metcons. They're so busy and scream crossfit. All Nike has is a swoosh and crossfitters know what's up.

That's the thing I don't like about the 5. On the 4 I feel it was somewhat subtle since it was incorporated into the design.
The nano 4 black/red is one of my favorite shoes aesthetically. Also liked the USA color way even though I didn't get my hands on a pair since the focus switched to accumulating MetCons.

I got my wife a pair of the USA Nano 4's and when I pulled them out of the box to check them out I really liked them.
Got my Fathers Day gift yesterday, which were some new Oakley shades. Wife said I could keep the shades or get the Frasers. Struggled but chose the shades. Might cop the Frasers next month when I get a raise haha

Wish there was re-up of the volt/camo, but I'll hold off until the July releases...
New to CF. Finished my 4 class intro this morning and now I'm signed up for the real thing.
Totally underestimated how physically demanding (but rewarding) CF is. Glad I took the plunge, and I'm looking forward to my future WODs!

I have the nano 4 flags and really liked them but the metcons fit me a lot more comfortably. I do have wide-ish feet and the nanos are def more narrow esp in the toe box. i wore these in a wod yesterday, heavy thrusters, pull ups kb swings and double unders. didn't like them . the shoe pushes you forward to the toes on the thrusters and is actually too squishy when you get heavy kbs, i am guessing it will be a good running shoe, but def not an elite metcon shoe.

That's odd... I've had my Metcons since March and haven't experienced that at all. The only issue I had at first was slight heel lift, but after a couple of weeks the broke in and I don't have that issue anymore.
By no means do I mean any disrespect by this, but I've been doing crossfit for 4 years now and whenever I hear of anyone complaining about their feet pushing forward during a Thruster or KB swing it is usually a form issue. As you are doing these movements are your heels planted firmly to the floor and do you have the ability to wiggle your toes freely during the movement?
Many times you see people struggling in the front rack position because they don't have the mobility to hold the bar properly during the front squat and it causes them lean forward and their heels to come up which is going to push your foot forward. Same with KB swings, so many people have a tendency to lift their heels up and go onto their toes rather than drive their heels into the floor and explode from their hips to push the KB up and through the window, which again is going to cause your foot to move in the shoe.
But, everyone has a different shape to their foot and the arch, width, bones, old injuries, etc... can cause various issues with equipment. Just wanted to toss that out there just incase.
