I have $400-600 to spend, I dont need anything crazy. Preferably a 13"-15" screen. at least 160gb hd, 2ghz 3gb ram, and a built in web cam. Anythingelse would be a plus. Any reccomendations or reviews? I've been looking at these few right now.

Acer Aspire 14"

Another Acer

I have a Gateway i got in that range...i love it.

I used to have an HP desktop..and i'm a fan of hp too...lasted me years

I've sparingly looked at Toshiba, I've heard most of in that price range are pretty much crap though. Enlighten me.

if you don't mind red

or mind waiting

i would so hop on that, but unfortunately i lack funds and a real reason for a new computer besides "it's already been two years"

remove the included
Logitech V450 Nano Laser Cordless Notebook Mouse, Ruby Red

in the package, and it's less than 600 dollars.

good luck

I have no complaints about dell. no real experience with HP. but I will tell you to stay far from Acer.

why so?

i have an HP 2000 series and i have quite a few qualms about it.

i've had a few dell latitudes over the years and they have been superb.
the vostro build quality is also very nice.

just stay away from the inspiron and studio line, IMO.

Best Buys got a pretty nice Dell on sale right now for 599. I'm a fan of smaller laptops, 13.3 inch, intel core 2, 3 GBs and 250 HD

Inspirons are complete crap!!! I bought one if feb, the battery gradually stopped charging over time and now it's completely dead after ~ 10months, one of my screen hinges is broken, and the up and right button dont work on it.

if you're going the dell route, be sure to get a vostro or a latitude.
