got a question here....
so I was in a fantasy football league here in California and was invited from a friend.. I joined won the league now the commish doesn't want to pay ($1500) he kept asking for an extension and I gave him 3.. it's been over a month.. today he specifically said he will not be paying me.. what are my options? is it possible to file a small claims over this ?
ps. fighting is not one

Did you pay your league fee through Paypal or LeagueSafe? If it's through Paypal, you're screwed. If this is a guy you know personally and the other members in your league, I'd hit him up with a subpoena. Because they would be witnesses that he ran this league and took money.

I paid him cash upfront and so did everyone else..
would I be able to get a subpoena even if sports gambling is involved we are all from California ? he is my buddies friend don't really know him personally..also it is over $900 would it be considered grand theft ? don't really want to bust him that big or get him jail time . I just want what is owed

You know the guy's real name? I don't want to generalize, but people who run these types of operations usually already have an extensive rap sheet. Arrest records online can be found easily if the guy's name isn't common.

no it's legit he ran this league and someone else won last year .. I guess bec. I'm new and he doesnt really know me he thinks he can get away with it.. I know where his brother works and I can figure out where he works... but is fantasy football with money even legal in California for me to submit a claim ?

I gave him 3 extensions to pay.. he told me he would pay me end of this month. I asked in the fantasy football group chat and he said "I messed up by asking the Group chat and made his legue lose integrity " if my buddy who is in on it then that's pretty messed up.. I'm in no business trying to fight bec.who fights after the age of 30?

He’s blatantly disrespecting you. I agree with the suggestion to get your buddy involved. If it was me I’d pay him a visit and not leave until I had my money or I’d put his *** in my car and go to his bank. But might as well bring your friend and maybe another guy from the league.

I’ve invited some friends to $500 fantasy leagues, ncaa pools, etc with people I know from the gym. My boy from the gym always pays out though, but if something were to ever happen, i’d feel obligated to at least pay my friend back the $500 entry fee.

Do you know his real name? If so then you can probably find his kids in if he has any. You shouldn't have to go that route but he's playing with your livelihood and thinks he can run over you.

he said I split the pot with my opponent in the championship . which I asked and the 2nd place winner accepeted .. however , we decided to cancel it and play it in full before kick off.. he now claims it didn't get approved and he never said yes to it. so now he only wants to give me $1000.. should I settle ?
