The Holocaust definitely overshadows the other casualties of WWII (which amount to many more than 6 million, in Soviet Union alone).

It's not fair how WWII has become synonymous with the Holocaust and every time you hear about WWII in the media or anything, the first thing you alwayshear is about the Holocaust when so many other people have died during that event.

^Basically.

In school, my teacher showed us Hotel Rwanda for two days and that was the extent of our discussion.

The holocaust ? We spent 2-3 weeks. WW2 As a whole ? We spent about 3-4 days.

I don't even know what to say. Some people's logic in here is absolutely unbelievable.

The only thing I can agree with is that yes, there were other atrocities that do not get the attention they should.

But saying one is "greater"? ****

Exactly, had it been a year, it would have been ~ 3.5million. Now lets say it ran 6 years or so, from '94-'00. Oh man, we'd be looking at20million+. Thing is, there weren't even that many Rwandans for the slaughter but nonetheless ~13% of the countries population was wiped out. That'slike if 39million Americans were to die over the next 6 years. I try asking my parents about friends in pictures and all I'll hear about how they diedwithout even a synopsis of the friendship. Bodies are still being found and the country is really just starting to recover regardless of what you might hear.
