NY artists in today's industry struggle to succeed. VOL. hometown radio stations dont support music

I'm not goonna lie this thread has been in the back of my mind for quite a few months mainly discussing Ebro's point of people needing to step up in order to play on the big leagues. He got a bunch of hate for it when he did it but since really starting the fire then trinidad throwing in the final match recently...... it seems as if Ebro's words & ACTIONS have really started to shed a lot of light and support towards the New NY artist. That entire Hot 97 morning show has taken a much heavier step into bringing awareness to new NY artist and atleast getting the convo started for the New cats.

Ebro with the music meetings is starting to grab upwards of 10'000-20'000 views on youtube, and he's shedding alot of light not only on New NY artist, but artist from all places.

For those that dont know what that is

And look at the variety in NY artist and how their starting to gain fanbases slowly

Those are just a half of the artist who are coming out right now... but the support in the city is starting to build and the energy is changing here too, rappers know they don't have to fit a certain model anymore and its showing through the choices in beats, flows, videos etc etc but it's still full of NY homage.

IMO this is the best the cities new comers have been in a long while and it seems that the director of Hot 97 is trying all in his power to keep the discussion and focus of these young cats up

Its almost back to the boom bap.
Artists are starting to care again.
Sometimes things need to fall apart
in order to rebuild. It'll come full circle
soon enough.

All NY needs is the new cats to stay hungry and the old cats not to hate. Bring the new cats on your with you let them build their buzz.
