Bandwagon? naw. After all the heartache you can't be mad when the fans take a break, it can be too much sometimes.
This is me right now. It was easier taking the L's over the last decade in stride because we didn't have any direction or meaningful seasons top look forward to. However, this is different; things felt different. There was hope. There is still hope, however bleak that may be.

In a city this big, your bound to have people branching off. That's not even talking about those who have taken breaks following this team. But then you realize we went 9 straight years with a losing record, 6 straight not making the playoffs, 12 years between 50 win seasons. The only reason I even made it through those years was because I was a kid so I had enough blind optimism to last me for years  I can understand anyone who decided to stop watching this honestly.

@NY_KnicksPR: Tyson Chandler participated in all drills this morning, except those involving contact.

ron's right, ny is more bandwagon fans than real deal fans, sad but true ...

woulda been sickening if LeBron was here. that haitian dude in my job who has no idea who rony seikaly was woulda DEFINITELY been a DIEHARD knick fan ever since Ewing and dem ....

I disagree, knicks fans aren't bandwagoners, they are so die hard that all this mess has created a love/hate relationship....rooting for this team when winning is a beautiful high, and getting blown out by lottery teams is a frustrating low...

you can't even blame the bipolar tendencies....knick fans have been disappointed way too much...

-fire woodson---hire jvg at any cost...there really aren't that many A1 coaches available right now, if van gundy is willing to sign up for this mess long-term... have to go for him now

-get rid of everyone except: martin, chandler, melo, hardaway jr., felton, and ron artest

-bring in a real PG...pass first, if you can land rondo you go for it asap..get felton to come off the bench for him

-need a strong PF who can play his back to the basket ---aldridge type player ...but without getting rondo and a A1 coach, no player of his caliber will join the knicks misery

-need a knock down shooter....someone like novak, korver, reddick type player...

PG: rondo
SG: knock down shooter---reddick/korver type player
SF: melo --let him beat up on smaller dudes...playing him at the four too much kills all his energy and puts a toll on his body
PF: aldridge/david west type player
C: chandler

bench: martin, artest, hardaway jr., maybe try to bring nate robinson back, another 3 pt specialist, and a serviceable big man

for any roster changes to happen a coaching change and the extermination of all the cancers on this squad needs to happen first....
Dude.....

So you were like those kids that Clyde was talking about at the end of the game yesterday?

Exactly  Now at 24, I lost faith in this team after two weeks into the season :smh:

I'll assume you became a Knick fan around at 8 years old which is about '97 I wanna say. At that point, I was already done with them. The early to mid '90's were great and heartbreaking at the same time. I was one of those kids when I was younger.  If there is anything that being a Knick fan has taught me was to not get too into it. It's a hard life going to school and having friends that were Bulls fans at the time, among other teams, harass you for no damn reason

. I threw stuff, got mad, and at times had complete disbelief of the things that happened to them. I hate to bring it up, but that Pat finger roll did it for me. At the time, I had gone through too much after they were so close. Their draft issues and FA signings were (and still are) confusing for the most part. Too much happened to be a fan of just them. I'm a fan of basketball period. I still root for the Knicks to make smart personnel decisions to right the franchise, like I would any other team. I already know that if they win, I don't have full rights to enjoy because I turned in my Knick card long ago

You're lucky. At 30, I've seen the losses to the Bulls, June 22nd, 1994, '99 Finals through the Layden/Zeke years. I'll watch no matter what, however, losing like this doesnt surprise me one bit. I've lost all emotional connection and sensitization to losing.

I wanna say I became a fan around '98 so beh235 you aren't far off. And I have faint memories of watching the 94 Finals with my pops and older cousin, they were hurting that year :smh:

Starks was my guy, but I cried myself to sleep that night. Those couple weeks were emotional roller coaster, Rangers won the cup and BAM! Starks folds.

1994 was pretty rough, even though I was young, but Martin Luther King Day 2002 scarred me forever [emoji]128532[/emoji]

I know everyone loved him, until #23 came around, then he was constant food
