Animals are incredible....if it wasn't for our intellect, we'd be deeeeeeep down in the food chain...

The thing is, if it wasn't for our intellect, we wouldn't necessarily be where we are physically.

It's also very possible that we would've evolved more tools to help us defend ourselves, or hunt for our food. Thicker skin, more muscular bodies, etc.

In a way, our superior intellect dampened the evolutionary need to be physically dominating.
