any chance that melzer upsets nadal? i haven't been watching this tournament, how have both players been playing?

Rafa lost a bit of his concentration up 5-4 in the 3rd, but was able to finish it off with a tie-break.  I don't think he's lost a set yet.
Your Roland Garros finalists.

Excellent match from Schia. Stosur had no answers for her all court game.

The way Samantha had been playing I figured her to cake walk this title.

Im lightweight shocked she lost, and straight setted to boot.

Stosur is who we thought she was. She is mentally soft when she plays players she should beat.

Not to take anything away from Schiavone (she played really well and thoroughly deserved it), but Stosur really choked... Nowhere near the quality we've seen over the past 2 weeks, with lots of poor shot choices and uncharacteristic errors.  Disappointing.  Nonetheless, congrats to Schiavone.

Stosur is essentially an older version of Dinara Safina.  Decent player that gets hot at the right time but is just too mentally weak to win when in it really matters.  I've followed Stosur's career and her effort today doesn't surprise me one bit.

always see one of these semi decent players winning french open.
thats what makes french open interesting.

can't wait for the wimbledon though.
you know wimbledon is where its at.

Yeah well, tennis only has limited popularity here... together with the fact that matches are in the European time zones (most of NT is presumably in North America), "only 4 pages" is to be expected.  Oh well.
Rafa was too tough. Soderling had to go for his shots in order to win... they all landed in against Fed, but didn't against Rafa...

With this win, he becomes the #1 player in the world again.

Congratulations to Rafael Nadal. His offense is getting better, better, and better. Scary.
