Official "Going to Vegas in..." Vol. II "It was time"

Studying for the Bar this summer :x . Me and my roommate are starting to go insane and we are saying F it. Driving up to Vegas on Friday (6/21)and leaving Saturday evening. Just a cheap trip, kind of spur of the moment. Did one of those "secret" room things. Got the Hilton (LVH) for 55 bucks. Doesn't really matter b/c we are only there 1 night anyway. I usually do pre-sale tix online to avoid lines and tipping the bouncers. Tried to buy something for a sat. pool party and everything is sold out except Bare Pool Party. Just realized its EDC weekend. Has anyone been to Bare, opinions?

-For Fri. I want to hear a little hip-hop at the club, was thinking of going to Marquee. Anyone have any other suggestions?

-Anyone have any hook-ups for day clubs on Saturday (6/22)? Just trying to get in, don't need a table/cabana

thx

was in vegas THURSDAY-SATURDAY morning last week. Flew out to Puerto Rico from Vegas for PT2 of a bachelor party. Vegas never fails. But that place gets old after 2+ days.

Had a bad experience at Marquee dayclub. I reserved a cabana for Friday. The host I had contact with said NOTHING to me about being there at 11am to get the cabana. We finally get there around 12-1230 and he tells me there are no more cabana's and can't even let my entire party in not even for general admission. Would only let 3 of us in WTF? I should've gone earlier to check in for the cabana but man at least mention it to me that i have to!

We ended up at daylight at mandalay bay which was actually pretty good. Spacious place, hot chicks, good music what else could you want.
That's why I HATE dealing with hosts. They pull shady ish all the time.
Buddy if mine had a cabana set up at EBC a few weeks ago, showed up the day of and the price doubled from the initial price/deal he had worked out

That's why you need to stay in constant communication with a host. It's supply and demand. Prices can go up without warning. A good host will (or, should) tell you though, so there's no surprise.

Dress code question:

Can I get in with these to all tier 1 clubs?

Cole Haan Lunergrand Chukka

Also, I'm tired of wearing dress shirts/tie to the clubs. Can I keep it lowkey with some slim fit chinos, lunargrands, and a form-fitting dark v-neck and not have any problems with the bouncers at Tier-1 clubs?

If you have bottles you could do the V neck.

You also could rock a blazer with the V neck. If you're drunk you won't notice the heat lol

V-neck is very risky without bottles. Risky even with, unless you have a good relationship with your host. It had better be straight off the rack, never worn, good fitting v-neck.

Anybody stay at the Flamingo? How is it in terms of... Everything? lol.

Great because it sits right in the middle of the Strip.
Great pool, tropical themed with water slides.

Not sure if all rooms were redone, but I know some have a contemporary feel to them. I know one of the rooms has this bathroom where it's smoked glass and viewable from the bedroom area. Kinda weird to explain, but basically you can see the silhouette of the person taking a shower. May be awkward if you're staying with dudes.

However, the casino itself is very old and definitely not up-to-date with other casinos. Limits are lower compared to the higher end casinos, obviously.

What do u yall suggest I do in October w/ the mrs? It'll be mid-Oct so I doubt any costume parties will be poppin off

Stay at
Cosmo, Bellagio, Wynn, Venetian.

Industry nights at all the major clubs will be dope. I'll be out there for my bday.

During the week hit up respective industry nights.

Weekend you can hit up the majors like XS, Marquee, Light, Hakkasan or do more lounge type places like Hyde or bars like Chandelier or Bond at Cosmo

Also there's plenty of show options and food ones.

If you're looking for party atmosphere stay at Cosmo.

More romantic then Bellagio.

Wynn and Venetian good in between places

In terms of how crazy Light is right now...From JC

I would expect a sellout, especially that weekend. Light sold out both Fri and Sat this past weekend. It was at capacity by 11:30 on Friday for Bassjackers.

What about Luxor? My wife has been stuck on that spot for some reason?

Cheap and trashy.

Here's the problem: as a concept, it's not entirely terrible, even if it's a little gimmicky. The execution, however, is atrocious. Also, I think I read somewhere that the building doesn't allow for renovations (at least the rooms), so it's just stuck in a time warp.

Ecook and all the rest of you fellas who helped me out a few weeks ago, my buddies and I finally figured out a semi plan for this weekends bachelor trip

So after deliberating between XS, Marquee, and 1Oak we officially all have pre-sale tickets for XS on the 22nd (Sat)... It seemed like the most well balanced club for all us guys and our different needs.

For Friday we wanna go with the flow and experience the Vegas bars and see where that leads us, and the nicest ones according to research seem to be the ones in Cosmo (Bond, Chandelier (sp?), Vesper). I have a question though, and excuse the ignorance I haven't done Vegas in years. Are there cover charges for the bars as well? Long waits to get into those Cosmo bars? Any tips on approaching those bars? Certain times to go, certain drinks to order, any tricks or tips would be appreciated. Bond looks sick as hell, so I wanna go there first but my boys wanna go to Chandalier first.

Our plan is to do Wicked Spoon for dinner that friday night before and hit up those bars after. You guys seem to agree on Wicked being the best buffet on the strip so it's perfect that its in the Cosmo as well. We def cannot go to the M Buffet,
Too many guys in the group to taxi and commute. But any tips for the buffet? Should we get there early? Don't wanna wait for an hour in line and lose our buzz.

Thanks guys, im excited things are finally starting to come together :pimp:

No doubt. Definitely aint tryna feel like the Rat Pack stayed in my room the night before.

What the best spots price wise. I want somethin nice but aint tryna break the bank bein that we won't be in the room much. I'm lookin at $800 total for 4 nights if possible

Edit: Now she talkin about she always wanted to stay at MGM anyway :smh: women

No cover or lines to get into any of the bars/lounges at the Cosmo. Go to Bond second (or later)... Certain nights they have a dj come in. I wouldn't suggest spending much time at the Chandelier bar. Cool concept but kind of a boring atmosphere imo

No lines for bars, but there’s a good chance you won’t have a place to sit. Chandelier gets really crowded, but it does have three levels, and it’s pretty big. You can also buy bottles there (I believe). Bond actually has dance floor, and gets pretty busy. It’s an older crowd, and some of the seating can be reserved (for a relatively small minimum). Vesper is small, but is really good. Seating can be an issue there on a busy Saturday night though. I think there’s one or two other random spots, but those are your best bets to feel like part of a "scene".

Rat Pack era would be a step up. At least there’s nostalgia built into that. It’s just a 20-year-old building that looks even more dated than that.

On Friday afternoon if you guys still can't decide on a bar to go to, check out the Bar at Eli Roths Goretorium. Tell the hostess you're there to "Pre-Game" and it's $25 all you can drink from 5-10. Again not the best option IMO but its an option. They got a DJ and the outside patio overlooks the strip.

do any of you guys play the My Vegas slots game on FB where you can rack up coins and win free comps in LV?

I've been playing for about 2 months and have racked up a couple comp mid week stays
