That is exactly how I felt about the MN 2008-2009 Lebron James alternate jersey. The OG Adidas version had the layered twill numbers/letters while the MN throwback had the kiss cut numbers/letters. The MN version felt cheap but collectors have said it's accurate.

I feel like the kiss cut looks cleaner and I feel like authentics should be as accurate as possible anyways

Kiss-cut lettering is like the HIGH patent cut on 11s. True to OG form, but off to many consumers because most of the retail products over the years (retail authentics, retro 11s) have created the wrong expectation. lol
