I doubt VD even sees the field much over the next few weeks until the coaches/Peyton is confident he has a firm grasp of the playbook. This probably would have worked out better for him in terms of playing time if it happened over the last couple of weeks.
That being said, Virgil Green and Owen Daniels haven't exactly been lighting the world on fire and Denver desperately needs somebody who can line up in the slot. Kubes also loves him some 2 TE sets.
