BBTS tends to do that with popular items to avoid any leftover "shelf warmers".  They'll be just like any other separate figures you can buy at Toys R Us once they're released though.  It shouldn't be a problem getting these.

BREAKING Paramount has shaken up its release schedule, dating the Jonathan Liebesman-directed live action-CGI comboTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for Christmas, 2013.

Yeah, that alien thing is just a damn shame, good little article about it here:

But Hollywood seems to do that a lot; take a small factor that seems insgnificant to them and change it (this seems to show that Hollywood doesn't actually take the time to see what the themes of the original are), while the theme they leave out or change is actually quite pivotal to the story. Another example is for instance having the upcoming live action Akira movie be set in "Neo Manhattan"

obviously they have not understood that having Akira take place anywhere other that Tokio (ok, let's say Japan) undermines the whole story, same goes for changing the turtles from mutants to aliens.

Bay responded to the outrage all over the internet lol
Michael Bay posted this on his forum.
Fans need to take a breath, and chill. They have not read the script. Our team is working closely with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles to help expand and give a more complex back story. Relax, we are including everything that made you become fans in the first place. We are just building a richer world.

After the last Transformers movie my hopes are not high for this flick. Hopefully it turns out good though.

they werent going to have it be in Japan because then they would have to hire asian actors as leads and we all know how hollywood hates doing that. Theyll probably just rewrite the story so that it makes sense having the explosion be in the US

@ Bay telling fans to "chill".

No sir howz about YOU chill.

This fool is gonna %%*! around and tie TMNT in with some wild Prometheus type %%%+.

Well this being Michael Bay, you know we'll get a TMNT movie filled with spinning cameras, no concept of natural progression of day and nighttime, lens flare, April O' Neil played by a Hooters waitress, Shredder played by Ken Jeong, and a remixed TMNT theme song by Linkin Park.

I hate it already.
