Amazingly we are only three weeks from the release of the Retro Jordan 8 Playoffs. Many heads have been looking forward to the return of this colorway; however, we took some side by side comparison shots so you can see for yourself just how original of a colorway these are.

Overall the shoes are great, but one can tell the shortcomings of the remake and that no matter what it is, nothing beats the original. There are over 30 photos after the jump that have side by side comparisons (OG on left, Retro on right), as well as larger images of both so you can get the next best thing to holding each pair in your hand. Overall, not too many differences and definitely not enough to justify passing.

I could have sworn that the final product had smooth nubuck like the Aquas.

good post!...can't wait for these...after that, im done with J's till the 11/12 pack drops...everything is dead on, except the pull tab..they shouldhave kept it red tho, and mid sole and the Og's seem to have a darker suede, that about it tho, the plastic tabs on the straps are revamped..definatly agood looking shoe, copping 2 pairs

Wow you guys are nit-pickers! JB finally gives us what we've been waiting for. A retro thats damn near identical to the original, and you guys complainabout pull tabs? You gotta be kidding me! If you want red pull tabs pay 300+ the OG plain and simple. No complaints here, thanks JB!

this is the part of the shoe that annoys me the most (and I know I'm being picky)

what is up with the triangle cut at the bottom of the tongue? (same on this year's other retro 8s)

Apart from that and the red pull tab they look pretty much dead on

Wow those look pretty good in comparison to the OG..i love my playoffs that i copped already..it is textured nubuck..it's good material..i've worn mypair twice and hardly no creasin at all..

Man, they had to mess with something with the OGs, but why do they gotta mess with the Red Pull Tab.....thatz what make the VIIIS the epitome of that era.
