McDormand seems to be under appreciated from the average movie/tv audience. For me, she's been stellar in everything I've seen her in even when it's smaller roles like the one she had in Almost Famous.
I'm glad she won her SAG. The field of her fellow nominees was really tough. I loved her acceptance speech.
After seeing most of the Oscar nominated films, I can actually say that I agree with this.
Some people were speaking about how the Oscars weren't progressive in putting any African American nominees.
The film is good enough to deserve an Oscar nod, but not much else outside of that.
I'm happy with most of the SAG winners of the movies I saw.
I wish there was a channel that aired all eps consistently. You was watching it on Antenna tv right? or Thistv? I noticed basic network tv is coming with all the old time focused channels (Movies, Get, Me, Decades is about to launch)
That Outer Limits is truly wild though. I thought the 90s one was something else. The stories those dudes in the 50s or 60s came up with were pretty surreal. If only the special effects were up to par but cuz it wasn't they went the extra mile on certain gruesome things to make things more suspenseful and tense.
how fast can i run?You and three friends are suddenly are transported from your couch to the back endline of the end zone at University of Phoenix Stadium as the ball is kicked off to begin the Super Bowl.
You are shrunk, as they are in Honey I Shrunk The Kids.
You have to make it to the end line in the end zone 120 yards away from you (10 yards from back line of EZ to front line, two EZs).
You must get there by the end of the game. If you do, you are transported back to your couch. If not, you stay in that state forever.
Do you succeed?

Nah, b.Staying on the field is mandatory, even tip-toe that sideline if it comes to it.
She was great in Burn After Reading too (most were in that movie - Pitt, J.K. Simmons, etc.)
Andy Greenwald said it best in regard to her Golden Globe on-screen spots and it was even further pounded in for me watching her speech last night, "When she's put on screen, her reactions to everything going on are exactly how the normal and unfiltered viewer at home is reacting to things. She's like a completely normal person lost in Hollywood."
I really want to know what you thought was lacking in David Oyelowo's MLK Jr. acting performance. No hate, I just thought he was tremendous and should've been a favorite, but he wasn't even nominated.
Completely agree with you on Bradley Cooper not receiving the Oscar nod (the only one from the last three years I thought he deserved was for Silver Linings Playbook - thought he outperformed Lawrence by a MILE in that movie, loved what he brought in that).
Yep, Antenna TV
The one I watched was two men and a woman were trapped with a probe. This light froze a man completely and they found out they couldn't go near the light. Then there was this smoke/fog they would get lost in, this strange code they were trying to figure out, decode, send a message to. Also, this disturbing slime/Muk looking alien creature was walking around in the vicinity and getting larger and chasing them around. Just crazy, but had me hooked in when I had my laptop in front of me which is REALLY saying something.
stop watching generic Oscar bait that you have no interest in b

OK, so some of you are obviously REALLY into movies, like breaking them down every time you watch them.
Your favorite movies have all the elements, elements I'm not even going to pretend to be able to list, but I'm sure the list includes things like excellent/fitting music, excellent dialogue/screenplay, excellent delivery from the actors, good 1st/2nd/3rd act, seamless segues, great use of cameras/angles, lighting, makeup, costume... you pay attention to all o' that.
So what are you 'dumb' movies that you like? Movies that aren't on your "Dude, you HAVE to see" list... but you still like them?
Movies that leave your close friends who know you confused. Movies that would be the equivalent of a master chef saying every now and then, he actually does like a Whopper. His friends would be like, "I mean, I love Whoppers... but I don't know what pairs well with a porterhouse and a spring mix. You do. And you like... Whoppers? Niiice. *high five*"
List your Whoppers, master chefs.
