plastic bins for shoe container

What's good NT fam,

I bought some plastic bins for sneaker storage to save space. Last time my wife did this, mold grew in her bins and destroyed all her stuff. Do any of ya'll know/have secrets of what to put inside the bins to prevent this from doing so...? or anything methods of better sneaker storing. These shoes probably won't be worn again for years.

Moisture maybe?.. silca packs, no?

Should constantly keep shoes in the freezer or under bags of ice. Rotate ice daily though

You can poke holes so some air gets in there also throw in at least one silica pack.

Maybe don't put worn shoes in the plastic bins? I never do that. Once they're worn they don't even go back into the box, they're in the rotation. They're cleaned and put on the shoe rack.
