No Benz, Audi, Land Rover, Cadillac at the NY Auto Show? Might as well throw BMW and Porsche on there also, they had 6 cars between em and was in a little throwaway part of the area, barely can call it their own section.

Hyundai/Kia, Jeep, Ford and Subaru put the most effort, Hyundai being top dawg. The Ioniq 6 is so quirky in person, love it.

The Germans ain’t been to the Auto Show in official capacity in years. 2018 was the last time I saw any of them at a Auto Show

Yea the Philly show has changed a lot in the last 5-10 years. Not as worthwhile as it used to be, I enjoyed seeing the German brands. Fell in love with a grey RS5 a few years ago

They had a big loop setup and you could go in a variety of EVs and they would drive you around the loop accelerating which was cool to see.

Philly show used to be great but about 4-5 years ago, brands started leaving. No MB, BMW, Porsche, Jaguar, LR..yeah, lots of exotic dealers (Kerbeck & RDS) but they had to figure out what to do with all the excess room from the lack of brands. The EV test track and the Jeep & Ram off road track was pretty cool.

We go with our car group to do something during the winter when the Cars & Coffees are not as attended (they go year round but when it's like 20° out, yeah no! Plus one of our friends took us to an AMAZING Malaysian restaurant right around the block from the Convention Center. Awesome day this year. 👍

They too good for the show now.

Was disappointed though they werent there. There was 2 seperate EV tracks, one for Ford (?) I think it was Ford..but the other was for Hyundai. I dont know if other places do it but every year Jeep has like an outdoor obstacle course where a driver takes you up a steep “hill” and other obstacles that test the Jeeps suspension. I only have videos but ill post caps.

Next part is like a highly uneven surface mimicing boulders. Next is like a slope on side and the cars gonna be leaning hard. Dont know what the last is.

Mopar always has the best section. Jeep experience, monster trucks, mopar staff yelling at you to get in a Jeep

Man doing a Honda build the right way can be extremely expensive but worth it  Almost ready for a first start then making sure it gets from A to B before awd this summer.

Yeah it’s fire
IMG_2667.jpeg

Expensive as frick, but fire

Not anymore that’s why they are so popular now. When it debuted it sold slowly and for most of its life. Then BMW started doing crazy deals on them. I’m taking 900 a month for a lease on a 140k car. It was crazy.

Owners got pissed tho as it was supposed to be a limited production car but they ended up selling 20,000 plus worldwide. A huge number.

It’s quite the car, I have always been a fan. Charlie Browns like to say a laptop EV is technology but THIS is technology. An I-3 matched with battery power. Carbon construction. Only 3300 lbs.

Unfortunately getting in and out takes an act of God, it’s not that quick and not that efficient either. But mahn what a cool car. I still want one. Unfortunately BMW gives us an awful XM instead of a second gen i8.

One last i8 note, i really enjoyed producing this at my time at Vossen. We rented out the Port lol… at the time everyone knew one of the owners had an i8 on wheels but I had another bud with one no one knew about. So that early transition was something else.

Footnote- at the end spinning out the cars was a hassle because of the relatively lower power and the battery’s were depleted. Took a lot of work to get them sliding lol.

Get your offer in writing. Too many stories of G wagon owners going to pick their car up and the dealer hits them with 20k ADM…

Likely will be pointed to a 550..63 is stil near impossible to get.. used ones cost more than a new one it’s mad lol

Also make sure you get the all digital screen.. there is a base non digital dash
Digital dash? No no no no. There's a reason you won't see one in a Pagani, Bugatti, etc. The quickest things to age themselves out are always tech/screens. Just a way for the manufacturers to save money. All pertinent info fits just fine on the analog/digital dashs. You also have a 12 inch iPad a foot from your face in most modern cars... what exactly would an all digital dash make more
convenient/enjoyable/practical?

Was a cool way to showcase fancy tech a decade+ ago now its just a cost saving measure.

Sorry to break the news but doing a build on any chassis the right way is expensive and extensive. what happened to the gti and weren’t you doing a LT build?
