I am looking at buying a pair of '05 White Laser IV's but am wondering about the quality. How is the leather? I can't imagine it being worse thanthe '06 Mars, but don't know.

What im wondering is when did the quality start to suck? what year or jordan
The quality progressively got worse IMO, but the first shoe that made me really notice how bad the quality was getting was the Olympic VIIs. When the Lasersreleased the quality of the leather was really nice but the quality of the other IVs were not as good.
all the ones I have right now in the closet have been fine. It might be just some shoes last longer than others. My 3's from 07 are crisp andI've seen some complainers, but when I had the 2001 - Black / Cement Grey's they didn't last as long and people say that they were good.Originally Posted by Apple Windows

most of the IV's that year were pretty tight
The only two 4s that year were both Lasers
everyone's interpretation of "bad quality" will be different. as far as i'm concerned, the first TRUE epidemic i remember on NT was white/cem 3's. people were complaining how the holes on the tongue was way too small compared to the 01 retros...how the shoes were mass produced and some of them had too much "excess glue" etc. first pair i bought were indeed pretty wack, but the 2nd pair (which i have now DS) is in perfect condition. but yea and ever since then with every retro people started complaining. some of the ones i remember...retro 12's, retro 13's, retro 2's, and so on.
The wht/cement 3s were, not IMO, this is fact, that last retro to have that true high quality soft, buttery, supple tumbled leather, not countingwhat they used on the tongue, but even that is better than what they have been using since 2006.
I dont hold JB, I mean MJ, Gentry and other decision makers responsible for excess glue and thing like that because they are not in the factory putting themtogether, BUT, I hold them in direct responsibility of the cheap materials (leather, nubuck, paint, etc.) that they decide to purchase for production.
