Hello all. I recently applied and got accepted to both Hunter College's and Fordham University's Master program.
Hunter is a public school and Fordham is private. My question is, how much to prospective employers/ PhD programs look into the school

you went to? or do they place more emphasis on the work you have done over the institution? The difference in tuition is ridiculous but I am wondering basically if its worth it.

My major is: 18th Century British Literature

After Ma: I plan to get a PhD in the same field and eventually become a Professor. I am thoroughly confounded at this point.

Thank you in advance, all help will be appreciated.

Yeah they do. Depends on the rep of the department too, and the connections you can make. Look into alumni from both programs, and see their paths.

Say you didn't plan on becoming a professor what purpose could someone with your major serve to society?

Lol. Good question. I would most likely write and publish: poems, novels, satires etc...
