I know a lot of cats really started messing with Cam when he got on his computers puting, pink mink flow but as an Uptown 90's _, this is the apex of Cam's career and late 90's NYC Hip-Hop as a whole to me.
The rhyme schemes, production, track concepts, energy and even the artwork and promotion of this album are incredible. This record perfectly encapsulates the era and IDGAF attitude that hungry hood dudes Uptown walked around with.
Jay is in my top 5 but the more I listen to dude's older work, the more I realize that a lot of his albums are overrated just off of his consistency and status.
S.D.E. feels as fresh and energetic as it did in 99 (when it first leaked).
Cam did work on this album and it's not really appreciated like it should e cause he doesn't take himself seriously and just keeps it moving to the next thing.
From the epic opening track...
To the gully closing song.....
This album is a classic.
Pay homage.
