Hey NT:
I'm applying for this legal job that will be part-time in school year and full-time during the summer. It asks that I "state my desired hourly rate for consideration." I have a job in the summer currently lined up that will pay me $15 an hour. This new job would be closer to where I live though and is more what I want to do.

How much should I ask for? I was thinking $30. Thoughts?

I always just put "negotiable" for that question.

IMO It's easier to talk about that sort of thing face to face, and I don't want to be removed from consideration before I even get to have an interview.

at asking for $30/hour

Put negotiable. You're probably gonna get below $20/hour.
