But they'll let a drunk driver that killed 4 people freeTexas teenager may face life in prison for allegedly making and selling hash brownies, The Huffington Post reports.
Officials in Round Rock, Texas, have charged Jacob Lavoro, 19, with a first degree felony because he chose to use hash oil rather than marijuana.
Lavoro’s use of hash oil allows the state to use the other ingredients in the brownies to determine the weight of the drugs, KHON-TV in Texas reports.
[Lavoro's] father says he just wants what's right. "If he did something wrong he should be punished but to the extent that makes sense. This is illogical. I'm really upset, and I'm frightened, I'm frightened for my son."
According to The Huffington Post, the brownies weighed in at 1.5 pounds, and Lavoro could be sentenced to between 5 years and life in prison.
