No, Kobe was drafted 17 days before Shaq signed with LADon't believe they low balled him, Shaq wanted to make movies/rap. He wanted the Hollywood lifestyle no doubt. Kobe came a couple of years later.
No, Kobe was drafted 17 days before Shaq signed with LA
And yeah, they did sort of low ball him, Lakers offered more money but Orlando did MATCH the offer in the closing moments. Shaq still left
Shaq didn't come to LA for Kobe though to whoever was implying that
Why do you only call the guy out for his bad games?E Bled out here being average again?
Par for the course.
Dude average G, accept it
It's not "if I say so", it's a fact that Shaq didn't go to L.A. so that he could play with a rookie out of High School. If you say so, im sure orlando couldve gave him close to the same amount since he "regrets" it now
Stop implying that Shaq came to LA because of KobeFlorida has no state taxes so i doubt money was a issue, plus shaq said "they have a young team" imo implying to kobe who was already being compared to mj at the time
Kobe was compared to mj out of hs, he had a shoe deal with adidas before he was even draftedkobe wasnt a top 5 pick yet was compared to mj? kobe exceeded the expectations for him when he was drafted.,,.,, if everyone knew kobe would be kobe he wouldve went number 1 or 2.....
Never knew all this from his Wiki page:
O'Neal became a free agent after the 95–96 NBA season. In the summer of 1996, O'Neal was named to the United States Olympic basketball team, and was later part of the gold medal-winning team at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. While the Olympic basketball team was training in Orlando, the Orlando Sentinel published a poll that asked whether the Magic should fire Hill if that were one of O'Neal's conditions for returning.[19][2 82% answered "no".[19] O'Neal had a power struggle while playing under Hill.[21][22] He said the team "just didn't respect [Hill]."[23]Another question in the poll asked, "Is Shaq worth $115 million?" in reference to the amount of the Magic's offer. 91.3% of the response was "no".[2[21] O'Neal's Olympic teammates rode him hard over the poll.[2[22] He was also upset that the Orlando media implied O'Neal was not a good role model for having a child with his longtime girlfriend with no immediate plans to marry.[19] O'Neal compared his lack of privacy in Orlando to "feeling like a big fish in a dried-up pond."[24] O'Neal also learned that Hardaway considered himself the leader of the Magic and did not want O'Neal making more money than him.[25]
Is this news to you or am I missing the jokeWhoa whoa whoa, wait a minute. They held then Olympics in Atlanta?
yeah there was a bombing 96 atl.
Is this news to you or am I missing the joke
There was a bombing there too I believe
Just because Shaq labeled them a young team didn't mean EVERY SINGLE player on the team had to be younger than Shaq. They did have a young team, which was factKobe was compared to mj out of hs, he had a shoe deal with adidas before he was even drafted
hs players were still a huge risk, GMs were scared because kg was just a top 5 pick & had a subpar year
If shaq said they had a young team, who is he refferring too, van exel & eddie jones? both who were older than him
