Dragic update:
Heat plan to offer 5 year 80 million while Lakers and other teams can offer a 4 year 85 million

too much money for dragic,.this is one of the main reasons we're in this wade dilemma. having to overpay players just to keep our team as a contender is forcing us to choose between keeping the queen or all of the pawns/support pieces. not good. wade and riley gotta figure it out. i say, hire wade as an "advisor" and pay him 15mil a year as an nba player. 5mil as an employee salary for being an "advisor"Man that's a whole lot of money for him. Wow!
Happy Fathers Day gents.
80/5 would be a definite steal... which is why it probably is not going down that way
it doesnt even have to get that far. dragic is NOT an elite pg. hasnt even been mentioned amongst the top seriously. we made a shortsighted move with the contract we gave him to get him here.... now we're at gunpoint to keep this "good" pg? like...can u say with a straight face that dragic is worth 16 million a year? how many wins does dragic add to the team? we have too many point guards to BEGIN with. understand that 16 million is what the heat pay wade right now....Idk about a steal, he's turning 30 so you're not exactly getting his prime years.
Honestly I thought it was a high number to begin with too. With how many great guards out there and coming up through the drafts... do they really need Dragic? What's so special about him... I'd let someone else pay him the 5 year max

theyre fighting to keep him because of principle. we gave up a LOT to get him. to let him go after playing half a season is stupid in theory. and thats why theyre considering this overpayment just to keep him here. truth of the matter is, they needed to focus on napier chalmers and cole. instead they dropped cole and picked up goran. napier has high potential but only if we push him to reach it instead of benching him all season (besides the injury). but thats spoelstra's decision and spoelstra doesnt do ANYTHING smart.

nope. heat when healthy AS IS, would be in EC finals. They kinda out of options, unless they wanna let Dragic walk and draft a PG.
He's certainly not an elite PG but he can definitely be the PG of a EC contender which is what the Heat would borderline be if everything pans out correctly in the offseason.
He just started getting consistent minutes like a year or two ago, his legs should be a little fresher than most would at his age... with the cap rising, 16/yr over the next 5 would be something
He's a great player, maybe more of a undersized 2 than a pg but none the less I'd call him elite

starters:
Dragic
Wade
Deng
Whiteside
Bosh
2nd squad
Napier/chalmers/Wade
Tyler Johnson
Ennis/Beasley
McRob
Birdman
thats the east. pretty easily if everyone is healthy.
I hope stanley happens, and they are able to keep everyoneI wouldn't say that, he's been playing pro since 2003 and plays internationally.
With the cap rising, his contract won't be that bad but I'm not that excited about a core of Dragic/Wade/Bosh health and mileage wise for the next 4-5 years.
Whiteside and Stanley going to bethough.
nah we disagree on this one. elite compared to who?

honestly, i'd take him over Lowry, Teague and Rose but that's JMO

cp3
tp
steph
teague
kyrie
conley
lillard
rose
wall
lowry
westbrook

How much exactly do you think he would be worth considering his market value then? random role players could be in the 80/5 soon... offer him 10,12 mil?
Happy Father's Day, NT!
