However, the greatest ending to a sports game has to be the 2006 World Cup final. How this hasn't been mentioned yet is ridiculous. Winning the WORLD CUP in a penalty shootout? How do you top that?

penalty shoot outs are nerve wrecking but not really heroic unless a goalie makes spectacular saves while his own team is choking

brazil-italy went to penalties in 1994 as well
