Last month i brought in an old 17g 10k chain because i wanted to get a custom signet ring done. He said he can make the ring 16g and it will cost $300. I thought that was fair for labour since a couple places wanted to charge me $600 -$800 lol. 
 
I thought the whole point of making custom jewelry was to build your own wax and set your own stones.....what the hell are these jewelers actually doing then? Standing in pictures?

Unfortunately most people in the industry just sell vendor made, mass produced merchandise that is set overseas. (Lot's of watches)

There are very few real jewelers left around who do full manufacturing. From design, to wax, to casting, diamond setting, and final finishing... this is all done in house at GSJ.

Damn shame and the whole time I was actually thinking some of these people possessed some good ol American craftsmanship....and that's whyI thought I respected some of these jewelers.

GSJ after I finish school I'm fighting my way through your door for an internship, as long mayweather isn't in front of it.

But really all in house I do applaud you.

Exactly. Your jeweler shouldn't be wearing a chain on the outside of their shirt lol. They should be also be wearing dress shoes.
