The Official Mortal Kombat X Thread (KOMBAT PACK 2 AVAILABLE NOW FOR PSN & XBL)

We might get a returning Red Dragon character from the PS2 era in MKX afterall so my guess it's going to be ............

Makes sense since he also rocks a trench coat and uses hook swords as well.

Everybody picked Quan Chi
MKX will have more fatalities than any other MK has had, and much more "robust" netcode
Well, a new interview that starts with the same lame question to show off the 3 variations. In this interview Ed Boon was asked about the fatalities and he said there will be an "enhanced version" of classic fatalities, then he was asked if each variation will have a different fatality but he said they don't want to limit the choices and MKX will have more fatalities than any other MK game has had, so we're saying a minimum of 6 ?

Then he was asked about the net code and he said they learned a lot from the old games and it'll be "MUCH BETTER", much more "robust" netcode.

He was also asked about Shaolin Monks and that they want to do another one but they can't stop the flow of MK fighting games cause it's doing great.

And we might get a BRAZILIAN FIGHTER !
Adam Urbano explains the violent, yet over the top nature of MK's fatalities in our current world
In regards to real world topics; the violence that we hear about in our real world and how we hear it being "connected" to video games sometimes, NetherRealm Studios Producer Adam Urbano is asked about MK's fatalities. I don't recall this question really ever being asked very recently and by recently I mean with better and better graphics making the violence look even more real.

With this being a concern, Adam Urbano hits the nail on the head in regards to how NetherRealm Studios handles their work and our real world. For instance, you may have something like Cassie Cage's fatality where she shoots her opponent in the head but then puts her gum over the wound.

"We're very aware and would never be mean spirited. We're meant to be... fun
Cassie Cage Vs Raiden off screen gameplay (Raiden's new X-ray with sound) the crowd goes wild !
We can safely add this video to the list of how much Brazil absolutely loved Mortal Kombat X. Granted, the gameplay was that of something out of novice difficulty, but that is besides the point here. Not only do we see Raiden taking on Cassie Cage on a big stage with sound, but we also hear the roar from a large crowd.

ps.... I'm hoping we get some high level gameplay soon
Info about the mysterious online gameplay in the coming month(s); players will be in groups.
In a recent interview, Ed Boon talked about the new online gameplay. He said we'll get to know what it is next month, and he said everybody will be into different groups... could groups mean parred off in to different "Realms"? They're going to be competing and it'll be a great persistent on-going online gameplay. Whatever it is.... sounds like it could this be similar to clan wars, maybe?

In addition to this, as far as "offspring" characters go Cassie won't be the last. We're going to get son(s) niece(s) and nephew(s).

Online challenges will be "everyday and every hour" (similar to Injustice?)... listen to it all in the interview below.
IGN Interview with MK X Comic Writer, Shawn Kittelsen (long with good info !
If you're excited about the new Mortal Kombat X digital comics set to debut January 2015 then you may want to read an interview IGN performed with its comic book writer, Shawn Kittelsen. As said in the title, this interview is a long read and a damn good one. It truly shows Shawn's deep love for the Mortal Kombat universe and how he is able to include basically any character from the Mortal Kombat franchise in to the book. Granted, not all characters mentioned may make the final cut in the game, but he can tease, right?

Shawn does basically confirm that Liu Kang will be in the comic and we're also sensing some hint at Shinnok being in the game as well. Interesting information in this interview includes:

 • Liu Kang is in the comic (and maybe the game)
 • Basically confirms Shinnok (by not denying)
 • Kotal Kahn is a big focus of the comic; lots of story about him
Read the interview in full, here!

Don't have many complaints about mk9 but the online for the most part is

The connections 95% lag
Yes the lag is horrible. I tend to do private matches and fight on the courtyard stage with the no blood code to avoid any kind of lag. Of course I play hardwired as well.
#MKX Quan Chi Analysis w/ MK9 comparisons by KombatHouston
Here is a great Quan Chi breakdown video by KombatHouston, especially for those who never played Mortal Kombat 9 (2011). Not only does KombatHouston take us through the Mortal Kombat X Quan Chi reveal trailer, but they also add in the Mortal Kombat 9 comparison moves, meaning his special moves.

In addition to this, we see possible start-up combos, normals and more in this video breakdown.

Gimme sorceror.

I hope Liu Kang has a fighting style called MK champion and he's rocking the belt from MK vs. DCU
New Details on an untitled Mortal Kombat (show) series to be tied to Mortal Kombat X ?
While the details are very unclear as to what this will be - news from the HollyWoodReporter indicates that there may be a Mortal Kombat X series (including an untitled Mortal Kombat series produced in partnership with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment that is tied to the upcoming Mortal Kombat X video game)? We've known that a Mortal Kombat Legacy season 3 was in the works, but as for the trail it would follow was and still is unclear. The question is, will this reported series be a continuation from Mortal Kombat Legacy season 2 or will it tie directly in to the upcoming Mortal Kombat X game set for 2015? What would make more sense considering we also have a digital comic book series also scheduled for January?
Ed Boon Tweets Motion Capture Fatality Picture ( Kenshi? Ermac ?)
Ed Boon has recently tweeted a picture of a motion capture fatality. Whoever it is, they seem to have telekeneis. This pretty much leaves Ermac and Kenshi. The stance, and the holding his hand to his head(which Kenshi does very often in special attacks) seems extremely similar to Kenshi.

Is this Kenshi? Is this a descendant of Kenshi? Is this somehow Sektor? You decide
.
Mysterious ninja from MKX Comic, a member of the Shirai Ryu, revealed to be named Forest Fox
So who is this mysterious Shirai Ryu member? We know that the clan was wiped out. So could he just be another inevitable death in the MKX comic that has said to have deaths every few pages. Or does he have even the slightest possibly of being playable in the upcoming game ?

"Thanks to Warner Bros. Entertainment, we have received all the Mortal Kombat X Comic Art that has been released and this mysterious character has a name, Forrest Fox and he is definitely involved with the Shirai Ryu as the image file name suggests it."
