so i have never heard the trilogy album... heard all the mixtapes, but not the trilogy version.
i downloaded the bonus tracks, so i'm good on that.
but do i need to hear the rest? cuz all i hear is it isn't as good as the OG mixtapes, with samples taken out, remastering, etc...

I think at this point he'd be watering himself down if he's still putting out mixtapes, unless he makes it his business to have his tapes sounds different from his albums like how Kiss Land was different from the trilogy.

I don't really see the difference. If he drops a 10 song mixtape in August before his tour in September, then drops an actual album next year - I don't see the problem. Dropping a mixtape lets him experiment and deal with less label/promotional/legal stuff. It's not like people are making much money off album sales. Has to mostly be tours and merch at this point.
