Was thinking of buying a water filter for my kitchen faucet.
Anyone use one of these? Recommendations?

I just use two of these:

(pur is the brand)

I replace the filter every 3 months. (they say every 2 but w/e

There are things called immune systems use them

I also want to use water on house plants
noticed the water was too rough..... when it would dry it leaves white stains..calcium? bad for roots and nutrient uptake

I've been to several states so i understand because of different water sources but how would a filter help this? Its all coming from the same source filtered or unfiltered.

I'm not sure about plants but never heard the term water was too rough?

tap water in sf is great. in san jose it tastes weird, but if you put a filter it is fine.

I've been using Brita for almost a year now, always hesitated to drink tap water at home before (even though I know most restaurants just use tap)..

My parents boil water, always seems to have a "different" taste from my filtered water..

Also, the more common term for "rough water" is "hard water"..

Hard water can damage your dishwashers, sinks, washing machines and other appliances because the water contains high amounts of magnesium and calcium. In AZ, many people have "water softeners" to deal with this problem.
