whats the best rap verse ever if you had to choose one?

AZ-come up first verse

Verse just makes you wanna get it together/ take your grind to another level

~~Inspired by Basquiat, my chariot's on fire Everybody took shots, hit my body up, I'm tired Build me up, break me down to build me up again They like, Hov we need you back so we can kill your *** again Hov got flow though he's no Big and Pac, but he's close How I'm 'posed to win, they got me fightin' ghosts Same sword they knight you they gon' good night you with Sh.., Thats' only half if they like you That ain't even the half what they might do Don't believe me, ask Michael See Martin, see Malcolm You see Biggie, see Pac, see success and its outcome See Jesus, see Judas; see Caesar, see Brutus See success is like suicide Suicide, it's a suicide If you succeed, prepare to be crucified Media meddles, ****** sue you, you settle Every step you take, they remind you you ghetto So it's tough bein' Bobby Brown To be Bobby then, you gotta be Bobby now Now the question is, is to have had and lost Better than not having at [all]

jay on grammy family freestyle
This is always the first one that comes to mind for me. There is no "best" verse, but when I think of elite lyricism, this always the first thing I think of.

AZ had about 5 verses on Do or Die that are on that higher echelon too.

I'ma tell y'all what, Greg Porn (and Truck North for that matter) came so correct on this (first verse), it's another of my all time faves. If you haven't heard it, check it out.

Big 1st verse on Victory

Nas 1st verse on Nas Is Like

Big 1st verse on Juicy

Chuck D on Shut em Down

Chuck D on Fight The Power

I cant choose just one verse sorry, and there's more but i'm drawing a blank.

Best ever is hard to debate, depends on the person.  Sweet Jones' verse on Big Pimpin' gets the job done every time for me tho.

Nas on "Verbal Intercourse". Both are pretty untouchable.

if we doin that,
1st verse

Pac on '2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted'

I can't think of anyone starting a verse harder than this

"picture perfect, I paint a perfect picture,
bombin' suckaz with precision, my intentions -to get richer with the S-N double 'O' - P"

"Now give me fifty feet
Defeat is not my destiny, release me to the streets
And keep whatever's left of me
Jealousy is misery, suffering is grief
Better be prepared when you cowards **** wit me
I bust and flea"

"they tell me not to roll w/ my glock
so now i got a throw-away
floatin in the black Benz
tryna do a show a day"

:x :smokin

Hey, to the college kids no scholarships
Starting your semester
Unpacking your suitcases filling up your dresser
Enjoy it while you got it, after that it’s God bless ya
Life is your professor, know that ***** is gon' test ya
I got some **** I’d like to get off my chest
I spill out my soul, I spit out my stress
And can I spit out my stress?
It’s the feeling in the air you bout to drop a real classic
He said Cole, “A lil' birdy told me on the low you got an Illmatic”
Nobody touching Nas ***** it’s more like Villematic
These Fayettenam tales be paying off well
What story is my audio theater gon' tell
I know my debut will ship, but is it gon' sell?
I guess it’s in God’s hands
I make the type of pieces that make Jesus say God damn
That's for your non-believers
I’m the truth only time will teach ya
And **** the haters probably never love they mommas neither
Old bitter-*** sit around in middle class homes
With computers on hating on the newest song
While you was browsing I was taking out them student loans
Trying to do this **** better than the ****** we grew up on
Name a ******* song I ain't threw up on
Talk is cheap, its like y'all grew up in a Jewish home!
Pardon the stereotype
But y'all giving me mixed feelings like I married a white woman
One minute I’m overrated, next minute I’m the savior
You hate it before you played it, I already forgave ya
For ************ and that ***** Cole spitting that real
Wrote this line on a plane got flown straight from the Ville
To Miami, where the same time last year
I was broker than you, I just wanna make that clear
Cause now I’m dealing with money I’ve never seen before
And R&B ******* want me, that was just dreams before
Now do I give into the temptation I’m facing
The thought of losing a good woman keep me from chasing
But I’m just a man, at time’s the timing is wrong
Plus my **** is like a man with a mind of it’s own
But I’m trying to be strong, remind myself she ain’t about ****
These **** the same, all that change is the outfit
Looking for cheese on some mouse ****
Suck a *****, **** a *****, then go run they mouth quick
Rappers took a vacation I came over to house sit
You want change, this that between the seats in your couch ****
The **** you thought, I lost it
All that flame on my name would get exhausted
Au contraire my ***** they all ears
Sit back, enjoy the ride it’s finna be a long year, yeah
It’s finna be a long year, yeah

I know you feel that, the tingle in your spine don’t conceal that
Don’t conceal that
This exactly what you thought
Somebody bought the real back
Yellow Lines (feat. Phonte & Witchdoctor) - CunninLynguists
Phonte's verse never gets old

Listen, uh...She used to call me late at night
Didn't take long to see that we were a-alikes
On the same page, just couldn't get it right
Macintosh of my eye, let me take a megabyte
I cordially invite you to come take a ride in my thoughts
Switch memory lanes while we dreamin', wanderin'
And in return I'll strip my inhibitions
And go skinny dipping in your stream of consciousness
She said it sounds tempting
And I don't want to catch feelings
But this urge is calling me bad
I said well suga, if ya worried 'bout catching feelings
Chances are you already have
And there's no need to deny ourselves
I mean, lie to each other and deprive ourselves
Denial's not a game I'm prepared to play
So I express things most ****** scared to say
Put a spell on 'em, Forgive me Lord but I'm Hell on 'em
Baby we grown folk, So let me longstroke
And send 'em back to they man with my smell on 'em
Let me be quiet before I tell on 'em…haha

A child is born with no state of mind
Blind to the ways of mankind
God is smilin' on you but he's frownin' too
Because only God knows what you'll go through
You'll grow in the ghetto livin' second-rate
And your eyes will sing a song called deep hate
The places you play and where you stay
Looks like one great big alleyway
You'll admire all the number-book takers
Thugs, pimps and pushers and the big money-makers
Drivin' big cars, spendin' twenties and tens
And you'll wanna grow up to be just like them, huh
Smugglers, scramblers, burglars, gamblers
Pickpocket peddlers, even panhandlers
You say I'm cool, huh, I'm no fool
But then you wind up droppin' outta high school
Now you're unemployed, all null and void
Walkin' round like you're Pretty Boy Floyd
Turned stick-up kid, but look what you done did
Got sent up for a eight-year bid
Now your manhood is took and you're a Maytag
Spend the next two years as a undercover ***
Bein' used and abused to serve like hell
Til one day, you was found hung dead in the cell
It was plain to see that your life was lost
You was cold and your body swung back and forth
But now your eyes sing the sad, sad song
Of how you lived so fast and died so young

Yeah, "The Blueprint 2" homey, follow the moves
You put on two tube socks, you couldn't walk in my shoes
I was dealt a bad hand, **** what else could I do
but keep somethin up my sleeve that'll help me through
But can you believe, everywhere I'm at, models come through
Cat-fightin, cat-walkin, it happens often
It's true how society don't want me to move
into the penthouse building with spectacular views
They're like uhh, "He's a menace he could never be a tenant"
I'm like ooh, what's a young n**** to do?
I bring the brothers to the building give a feeling that I don't
give a f*** we just chillin watchin chandelier ceilings high as f****
Old lady, don't blow my high
'specially if you don't know my life, don't make me bring
Sharpton in it cause I'm dark-skinneded or
dude with the 'fro and the Rainbow Coalition, I'ma
victim of a single parent household, born in a mousehole
Mousetrap, n**** wanna know
How so, how Jay get up out that, here, yeah
I snatched purses I per-se-vered, yeah
I had work, fiends purchased, it was clear
I was out there sellin hope for despair, but stop there
I swear, I only make good from my mouth to God's ears
Had to get out the hood
And I can't justify genocide
But I was born in the city where the skinny n**** die
Born in the city where the skinny n**** ride
And as a skinny n**** I had beef with high size

Deck on Triumph and Above the Clouds have to be considered too :wow:
